Pumpkin Day!

Last Friday we made the most out of a very rainy day and explored with pumpkins inside all day! We discovered that pumpkins float in water, our class pumpkin has 40 lines in it and is 20 cubes tall.
The real fun came when the students worked with some helpful parents to scoop the seeds from the 5 pumpkins and a squash. They put them into groups of ten while scooping them out. I will be bringing them into school tomorrow after cleaning and roasting them. We will use ten frames to count them by tens. We will find out soon how many pumpkin seeds we have all together!
There are also a few pictures of some fantastic choice time creations!

October is a busy and fun month !

We have been busy this October! In the beginning of the month, Ms.K's 6th graders came to help us clean our garden and create leaf rubbings with us. Some beautiful art was made. We are looking forward to planting on our garden in the spring. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well there are a lot of words below them! Catch up on our month of October as you scroll through pictures of  calendar making, Mrs.Wishy-Washy, guidance time, choice time, outdoor bubble party, patterns, sorting and more!
